Hey…just wondering if there are any Canucks (especially Western Canada) on here that have had luck finding cordless impact drivers. I didn’t see any last time at HD or Canadian Tire. I’d like to start checking these out (and prices) as they seem like a worthy purchase.

Thanks...keep forgetting about that place. Damn Home Depot!!!
Hi Robert - have you checked H.O.T. for these products?? I phoned the guys today in Saskatoon and the clerk seemed to get constipated all of a sudden when asked about the drills. As if I was jerking their chains.
I even phoned the Makita dealer and had to pretty much insist to the guy that this was not an impact WRENCH! Have you purchased one of these drivers yet? CT is only showing the 1/4 in. Hitachi.
Please let me know if you've had any better luck.
Mike
Try phoning Makita Canada and asking for the phone number of the rep in your area. He is responsible for supplying all the local dealers and can arrange for you to buy what you want through your local dealer. I have dealt with my local Vancouver rep a number of times and he has always been helpful
Good luck

Hi John, funny you should mention the Makita Rep. I phoned a place called Construction Fasteners today and the Makita Rep. was actually in the store when I phoned. He didn't have this tool on hand nor did they seem to know much about it. Edmonton was the closest place they could find it. "Are you sure it's not an impact wrench you want???".
Man, he could probably sell a half dozen of these with one visit to the station! Are you enjoying yours so far? I'd love to get my hands on one but can't even look at a demo model as of yet.
Thanks anyway for the heads up.
Mike
Often tool reps are salesmen rather than people who actually use the tools so it often helps if you just give them a model no. and have them track it down. They are however really good people to know when they are getting rid of last years demo tools. If you have a factory service centre in your town you can call them. They also sell "reconditioned " tools, most of which have never really been used.
Good luck

I believe I have seen them in Kms tools http://www.kmstools.com/ . They had both the 1/4 inch and slip in fitting and the one that takes 3/8th drive . They are in Coquitlam and Abitsford
I'm in Trawna, so sorry, can't help you with western suppliers. FWIW, you need to find yourself a good tool supplier. Check the yellow pages. Rental stores can also be a good place to look; prices are typically competitive, but the selection tends to be more professional-oriented than HD or CTC.
But speaking of CTC, you might check their website (http://www.canadiantire.ca) for tools. They carry more/better tools that are available only on the web (eg. Hitachi drills). Right now the special offer is free shipping on many tools.

Tim
