Hello,
A lot of the work I do involves longer set up time than actual work time. A cordless miter saw would be a huge timesaver, if it works well. My question is, does any one have any experience with the Bosch cordless miter saws? I am looking at the 24v 10″ saw (reconditioned). Can a saw like this handle 20-30 cuts in 2x4s, mdf base, and jamb stock, on a single charge? I’ve heard that the 24v batteries aren’t as durable as the 18v batteries. Anybody out there have real experience wih that?
I am just trying to decide if I should buy one now, or wait on the next wave of the Li-Ion technology to catch up to cordless miter saws. AFAIK, Bosch is the only manu out there right now that sells these.
Thanks
David

Julian Tracy has one and likes it.
The little Craftsman 7-1/4" miter saw is getting some good reviews, for a small, light saw, but it is corded.
I love mine. Weighs like 25 lbs or so and you could frame out a basement room addition with it easy.
Two batteries makes it an all day user, no prob.
I'm still using the same 24 volt batts that came with mine 4-5 years ago. They get more infrequent use compared to the 18 volt batts, but still seem to charge and work well.
It struggles a bit with angle or bevel cutting in 2x stock, but can handle ANY trim job you can throw at it and will cut 90 degree 2x4 cuts all day long no problem.
I have a new Dewalt 12" slider and rarely bring that out unless I'm doing something that needs the dual bevel, longer crosscut or crazy accuracy. My Bosch cordless saw stays on the wall of my trailer at all times.
Plus - Bosch told me they were designed to be used with the 18 volt batts as well. So when my 24 batts die - I can just use it with the 18's. The 24's do give it more punch though.
On the job I'm on, I've cut all the 2x4's for this attic finishing - walls, collar ties, etc.
I've had mine 4-5 years and have used it a ton. Simple controls, durable design, easy to carry.
I'd say you could get 3 times the 20-30 cuts you outline in your post from one battery.
I've used it for 2 hardwood flooring jobs as my only chop saw - worked great.
You can use a reg kerf blade in it, but it does cut easier with a thin kerf.
Nice to be able to carry it with one hand up the stairs.
