I have the DW 18 volt and although I know someone will now proceed to throw rocks, what ever brand you get, get the keyless chuck. Saves time and hasle. It's Sweeeet! I don't find that I use my cordless circ saw too much, but when it comes to a recip saw, I always reach for the cordless.
I have an 18 volt Milwaukee - keyless chuck and articulating handle - works great - how long the battery lasts depends on the material you're cutting (probably stated the obvious there) - bought it as a set with trim saw/hammer drill/flash light - My partner told me he saw an advertisement where you can select the tools you want in a set
I have the 24V Bosch, which came free by mail when I bought the drill and circ saw combo kit. It works well, going quickly through 2x4s in demo applications, though I havent really tortured it yet. The batteries last a long time and it has plenty of power. My only complaint is that you have to jiggle the blades a bit to get them to latch into the quick release holder.
It is kind of pricey to buy on its own, about $400 with 2 batteries. If I were doing it again, I would take advantage of the 18V combo kit out there now which includes the new Brute drill that they are always dropping at the shows, circ saw, recip, jig, flashlight and planer thrown in by mail order (amazon says you need to buy their radio, but I have heard that some tool stores are offering the planer with just the set purchase), all for about $500. If you want lots of power, though, the 24V is probably the way to go.
Hope this helps. I enjoy reading your posts. Rich.
i just noticed today hd had the millwakee with the moveable handle clearaced out for 200. i don't know if thats a good deal or not. check your local hd as they all seem to have the same clearace items.[today after reading about 5.00 lennox blades i run over and picked up 10 boxes, i should be set on blades for years!] larry
