Cork can be fine in dry rooms, but some don't like it in the kitchen. There have been lots of discussions about cork flooring in the past. If you search the archives you'll find much to read about them before you can get many responses here.
I have used this brand of product and installed it as a floating floor in a number of high rise condo's. http://www.wicanders.com/page.asp?id=1&context=6,11,0. The site give directions on installing a plastic vapor barrier and that is what I have done. I have been very satisfied, or I should say my clients have been very satisfied, no call backs and some referrals.
Not sure if we treated your great suggestion properly and ever said thank you. But we've been impressed by wicanders, about to order the flooring from them, and very much appreciate your response. Why the plastic vapor barrier? Going to be installed on top of parquait flooring in concrete apt bldg.
I've done a couple of jobs that were cork over concrete.
The only thing I can say is better have that concrete smooth cause the cork showed every bump & dip in the floor.
