Hi,
We bought a manufactured home, a 1998, so it is built more like a stick. We are putting stained concrete siding on the end right now. I had my husband rip off the eaves and fascia because i wanted it to have a nice house built return. The problem, how does he built a return? I don’t want a pork chop return. I did read that article in the magazine. Is there anyone who has done this or has an idea to make a built up return with this type pitch roof?
thank you in advance for your time,

Are you looking for something beyond the article in FHB? Also, you don't specify the pitch roof you have.
Hi,
I can't find anything on FHB that shows a simple line with a box. The eaves extend over with a 2x6 if i remember correctly. The roof pictch is 4/12 i believe my husband said. The front and back roof eave is level pretty much with the fascia board. The end eaves are the ones with a overhang.
A fairly inexpensive way to dress up the returns is to install the porkchops, and then wrap the gutter around the corner onto the porkchops.
I looked that up on here and saw what you are talking about. you are right. i don't like just the porkchop but with the gutter it changes it. my husband would like that because it easy on him! lol.
i will call a gutter man and check that out.
thank you so much for everyones time.
Us hubbies gotta stick together <G>
If your rakes don't have an overhang, the gutter on the porkchop is probably your best option.
My husband just got the box up and enclosed it in. it looks good for what we had available. Thanks for the help. he said he couldn't do it and didn't know how. Ofcourse I knew he could and told him to just try and he did!!!!! The next house hopefully is stick after we rent or sell this one and then i can get my pretty boxes. this was our first manufactured home remodel, a little different than sticks. Thanks so much and maybe see you around for the next question!
