Morning All,
I am in need of what I believe is a skilled carpenter. I have a cornice-return that was installed and improperly flashed to a brick facade during the home’s original construction ~6 years ago. Aside from the improper flashing, the cornice return itself has warped and in warping pulled that improperly installed flashing away from the brick.
In driving rains, the improperly installed flashing acts like a scoop drawing rainwater into and behind the brick. This has had consequences that I cannot address until this problem is resolved.
When this failed flashing/return was discovered, it was temporarily patched to determine if it was, indeed, the problem of water infiltration inside the home. Well, the first 3-4 hard driving rains at this temporarily repaired cornice return yielded no water infiltration, but that temp. repair is now failing and a more appropriate and permanent repair is needed.
Please use my profile and send me an email. Much appreciated.
