We are installing some high quality windows (Loewen) in some new construction. I’ve never used the self adhering window flashing tape before but am contemplating using it for this application. The windows are wood with attached casing. What is the proper sequence of installation? Should it go over or under the house wrap? Should it wrap the ro on the jamb side? What brand is best? Also what is the proper use of this material for exterior french door units?

For wood jambs with pre-applied wood casiongs, we lay the pan flashing on the sill over the Vuycor self adhesive, then the leg Vycor on the sides turning into the framed openning, then the window.
At the head, you want to slit the housewrap and turn it up out of the way, place the Vycor on the sheathing with a turn out over the wood casing. Then you nail on the metal drip cap and let the housewrap flap down over the mwetal. This way, all your laps are facing downhill so any water that penetrates anyplace will keep being led back out away from the wood.
