I recently had a trench dug around two sides of my cottage where I have issues with heaving (approx 2.5″ higher than the rest of the cottage). The problem is that the footings in this corner were poured too shallow and the rest of the cottage is on bedrock. The trench is down to the bedrock now so what is the best way to approach this? 2×2 footings with block piers? sono tubes and pour? Big foots? when I am done I plan to install weeping tile for drainage and back fill with proper gravel so water isnt an issue going forward.
I should note that I have done some cribbing underneath and ran 2x 24′ beams accross from end to end for safety……Still nerve wracking when I think about knocking out the old footings
Any ideas are welcome.

How high will your footings need to be? If you are going off bedrock I'd drill a hole for a piece of reabr in the bedrock and tie the piers to that. Sounds like Sonotubes woiuld work fine.

Just curious. Have you considered pouring a concrete bolster around the house? A bolster is an angled, poured concrete reinforcement against your foundation walls. Drawing attached...
