What do your ankles feel like after a few hours on a 16/12?
Not me. I'm a 3/12 or less old guy.

If you recall, last late winter I trashed the left one. At home in cowboy type boots, stepping off a step ladder, landed on a bundle of base board, and twisted it where I saw god for a minute, then an ER doc, then a high priced bone cutter/ tendon attacher.
Still is kinda dicey at times, but I gathered awareness of what I do daily, and carry on with more caution than before.
I got 12k in bills, but I can walk, I never got the operation they wanted 120 K for, I just flailed away and almost got addicted to percosett ( OK, I did for a while).
Mind over matter my asss, it hurt bad and, you bet I can't walk anything over a 12/12 , even chicken ladders on steepers, still scares me, I keep the bad foot up hill, so I can only work in one direction...46 dude, 46....time to re think my occupation.
Edit: oh, anything over a 12/12 gets easier to handle ( except 14,16, and 18,) the you are not standing so much as leaning into the face of it.

Broke my left heel about 5 years back, ladder left it's spot & left me doing the Wiley Coyote for about 10' onto concrete.
Single story, low slope. Can't spend long in HD either, those concrete floors are miserable. Doc is advising this screw in insert thing, looks like on of those plastic wall board anchors with big coarse threads on the outside.
Gonna screw it into the side of my ankle between the bones. It will replace some of that mushy stuff that used to be in there and make my ankle straight again. It's on the list of things to do someday, I'm still thinking about that one.

I feel better now, you have it worse than I.
I just feel myself going away in all the aches and pains, the guys I work with are in the low thirties, they have the stamina and mindset of bull humping work. I just can't get overly ambitious about taking risks like they do, I choose care for myself above the superman syndrome, and try to envey that to them, before they regret the choices they make.
Roofing/Guttering is hard, I think I made this swing to appease my self esteem, and that I bring a mentality of being really fu8king smart..that is what I get paid for, being a head astep of the other pools of workers, or, I am so dumb, that I believe my own fantasy, and I get paid, just cuz I show up.
