Could you make a floating floor with solid bamboo?
I have already purchased solid bamboo flooring for my house. I now want to create a completely sealed air barrier beneath my flooring (because there is radon infiltrating from my crawlspace below). I’m wondering about installing the bamboo t&g flooring as a floating floor (by gluing the tongue) so I don’t have to nail through my air barrier. It seems to me this might work since bamboo is laminated together and seems to be quite straight. Any thoughts anyone?

You should check with the flooring manufacturer......
Installed some Teragren several yrs ago that was meant to be installed floating-at that time I think it was glue together-this was prior to the morphing into QuickLoc. Also, it could have been an engineered product-sorry, no memory on that.
Had to use their barrier which was sold as more than a pad. It was for moisture control.
Your best bet is an attempt at sealing and then removing (venting) the crawl, there's too many penetrations above for an underlayment pad to provide a proper seal.
How old is the house?
What is the current floor sheathing you'll be going over?
How are you going to seal the penetrations due to wires, pipes, and general construction glitches?
1. late 1940's
2. 3/4 inch diagonal boards+ 3/4 ply + vinyl floor tiles
3. I am planning on installing 6mil poly sealed with acoustical sealant to the bottom plates of all walls. In areas with plumbing I'm going to spray foam around all penetrations.
