I was unable to find a silicone caulk that matched the grout, so I grouted the space between the countertop and tile. I tried to limit the grout so there is room for a thin 1/8″ layer of clear silicone caulk. Does this seem like the best approach. There is a sink, so I do want to be confident about this. Ideas?
The tile is on drywall set in thinset.

That's a good alternative to a colored caulk. The clear silicon will provide the flexibility you need, and the grout behind it will provide the color.

Not sure how you "left room for" the silicone.....did you try and find a caulk that matched the counter top?

I left room by ensuring the grout was a bit more recessed in the counter to tile transition space. The countertop is a blue quartz silestone, thus hard to match with a caulk.
What brand and color grout are you using?

The caulk and latex admixture are Superior brand. Bought them from a specialty tile store.

That's nice, but what brand and what color grout are you using?

LOL "Superior" is the brand name. Color is somewhere between a white and tan.
