Covered Porch beam code

I can’t find any info in the IRC for beam size and cantilever length for a porch roof. Can anyone help in aiding me in finding the information? 

 

Currently based off of the 2017 IRC deck beam span it says for 10 joist span 4×8 beam should be 7′ on center I believe, don’t quote me. I find this overkill because my old 2015 IRC states the Porch roof only needs to withstand 10 psf.

    Are you confusing roof framing and floor framing?
