This is one of those times you might need to get someone closer.
could be structure settling.
thermal expansion
moving in the wind (which may or may not be a problem)
could be haunted
could be plumbing or heating pipes or equipment expanding and contracting and rubbing on structure.
could have an old relative trying to nap, and bones creak when they roll over or try to get up after.
When do you hear these noises, and what else can you tell us about the house?
only heard with high winds. only in master bedroom no other rooms in house have this issue. House is (5) years old. Ready to hire an enineer
That is a good idea. Worth a few phone calls to start.
With the wind, forces increase. it is possible that some of the structural elements are moving past each other and when they move, they rub past each other. if you are lucky, a careful inspection in the attic will reveal an obvious problem that can be fixed, like a broken joist, or place where a fastener or two were left out during construction. Siding and trim also can move in the wind (sometimes it leaves the area all together)
It also may prove difficult to identify the specific problem, or it might be hidden where it is difficult to get at.
As you might imagine, if the sound only happens during high winds, one might have to be looking for it during high winds.
