I wasn’t sure of the best place to put this one but here it is.
I was at a Home/Garden Show today and stopped at the booth of an old associate. While I was visiting with him, it occured to me that he was one of several people over the past twelve years who have been instrumental to my sucess, and that all those people deserve special recognition. I’ve often said here that good subs make me look good and bad subs can make me look terrible.
Paul is one good wood man. With the help of his wife running the front office, his shop has turned out some of the finest wood doors and other millwork in the whole Midcoast Maine region. They have more recently began marketing some of the harder to find wood flooring too.
As I understand it, Paul’s father started the business in a small garage with only a couple of routers and a Maine work ethic. You can see for yourself how the business has grown if you took a look at the website.

I plan to start adding other people to this thread who have excelled in their craft. The kind of folks who you are glad to do business with year after year, project after project. We all need to count the positive things in our lives more. I invite you all to join in and do the same, adding employees, subcontractors, or associates that have propelled you forward or been especially helpfull in providing Fine Homes to end users, the families that we all work for.

Ok Pif...this an article about one of my favorite Architects..ODell Thompson ,we worked on a few really special projects this is one of them..I did get a small mention for my work involved.
O'Dell is fervently trying to bring back the "Old Downtown" feeling to Sylva NC..his vision is being accepted slowly in this area of mini mall boom..but is catching on.
I wish more folks knew about him and his work there..

You know, I have lost touch with one of the better archies I ever worked with. His name was Buell Heminway in Portland, Maine. I read him quoted in the paper once a couple of years ago re a downtown restoration project his was involved with and wrote to congratualte him, but it came back to me in the mail. I ran an internet search and found nothing
He had once mentioned wanting to work abroad to broaden himself, so maybe...

Small world! I have done some business w/ A.E. Sampson & Son. I bought yellow birch shorts from them for only .99 sqf! I first installed it in my own home. My wife's grandparents loved it so much, they had me put it in their kitchen when I remodeled it. I've gotten nothing but compliments from these 2 floors. I would definitely recommend using their services. Where are you anyway Pif. I live in Strong, Me. (near Farmington). Nice to see a fellow Mainer on the boards.
There are a lot of Mainiacs here. Hello from Islesboro
The first time that I contacted Paul we missed out on working together. An architect interfered on that one. Destiny brings like minds to like projects though.
