I’m a framer and didn’t have much use for the charts that came with my SCMS…boy do I need em now. Got talked into trimming out recent frame and need angles for outside corners of a bumpout. Got all the 45 degree ones no problem, it’s the 22.5 outside corners that are giving me grief! Anyone know where I can download similar charts or at least have the numbers for those 22.5 outside corners for me? I suppose I could make a taller fence for my saw and cut it that way, but would love to know the angles to cut it on the flat… any help out there? Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to let you know.
I got a hold of a 12' miter saw and was able to make my cuts w/ the crown standing up.
But that crown calc is the bomb!
Did you write your own program?
I "decided" that the crown they sent was 32.25 degrees, or at least that was how I installed it!
There was about a 4 degree range that it would still "fit" in.
Anybody else ever see such a beast?
Worked out great, I got to spend my b-day doing crown and dentils!

Do not try this at home!
I am a trained professional!

Joe, thanks so much for sharing your experience and knowledge. That calc is fantastic. Now if you drive by a job site and see a PC plugged into a generator you'll know its me! I've installed a few straight runs and outside 90 degree corner before, but this house really had me scratching my head. I mean where do you begin trying to figure out what angle your 45 45 crown dies into a 9 in 12 roof coming down a rake, right. Thanks again!
