A quick question on cultured marble installation in a shower stall. What type of wall underlayment is best and what type of adhesive is best? I’ve heard everything from green board to hardiboard and silicone to thinset.

what color ...
I like clear silicone on either drywall or a cbu ....
cultured marble can bleed thru ...
so avoid both plumbers putty and construction adhesive on light colored cultured ... and it's almost always light colored ... not sure if I've ever seen a dark cultured marble?
I've never tried thinset ... I'd imagine a poly-modified thinset would do just fine ... in that case ... I'd get white.

Jeff:
Appreciate the input, the last three houses we've built have had it done three different ways. No problems with any of them, but starting a remodel where I'll won't be subbing it out and want to get it right. Thanks
I'd use wonderboard and theres a thinset that comes in a box at HD.
Its used for pourous tile such as marble and limestone.
Its a bit expensive but has its advatages such as a fast setting time and not bleeding or cupping tile.
BE well

remember he said Cultured marble ...
not really pourous ... at least not like a stone ...
as with corian ... it's just a fancy word for plastic.
