Stan - how long did that one take?
Looks great. I need to learn this.
Stan,
Looks like another great job.
I'm waiting for the day when you have to reconfigure your file naming system because you need more than 256 characters!

Jon: My self taught photo filing system is up to ten "1a's" now. I should be able to keep this system going for a few more years....then I will start filling up another laptop till it pukes like my last one.
Brian...that stairs is around 12 shop days so far.
Stan
Stan I just gotta ask,.... just how did you come up with this "1a1a1a1a..." naming system for your photo library?

And ya know I think perhaps just as remarkable as your workmanship appears in you photos I am always amazed and imporessed at how clean and new your shop always looks. Nothing in it looks used to me. I know one other guy like that. I look at his tool box or his garage and it always looks not just clean but "new".

Jerrald; My shop is prety dusty most of the time. If you notice...I never trimmed the windows or the doors. Thats just a quirk in my system...
The 1 and A's are just my way of keeping my latest pictures at the front of my computer files. I know,,,,I know..there are better ways....but until it bothers me....I wont change.
Stan
My favorite file naming convention is
JOB# YEAR MONTH DAY XXXX (eg CQ028 2007-03-12 0001)
This keeps the job together (although they are usually in their own directory), and the date system keeps them in true chronological order so October to December do not preceded February, among other Bill Gates issues.
Oh, and great stair pics as always!...that's not a mistake, it's rustic
Is 12 shop days the same as 12 man days? "Put your creed in your deed." Emerson
"When asked if you can do something, tell'em "Why certainly I can", then get busy and find a way to do it." T. Roosevelt
Eddie: I work by myself....so it is 12 man days. 2 1/2 weeks .

I'd pay to be a fly on your dusty walls. Nice work.
I don't remember who made the comment that whenever they open one of your pictures, they imagine you singing "la la la la la" as you type.
Now I hear that each time I see your stuff. great work by the way!
Nice stairway! Do you use bending rail or make your own?
Mike
Stan, that looks amazing. Well done. It must have been a bugger to get into place without a second floor to guide you.
Dave
Thank you. I , mean Thank you. Great timing.
Looks great stan. If you are in the same part of the country that I am in I would be glad to give you a hand installning (or carring the big sucker in)
Stan, what's the tonnage on one of those?
I can't remember if you 've done a photo display here on one of your installations. If you have and can post the link, I'm sure many of us that might have missed it would appreciate it. Maybe one on this install?
thanks.
A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Calvin: You have made a good point...pictures of us installing a stairway. My trouble is that most of these stairways take at least 6 guys....if there happens to be a 7th one...they are grabbing as well. If I ever get a loose person..I will give them my camera.
Stan
The previous one's for you.
