Sung to the tune of Great big Gobs of Greasy ,Grimey, Gopher guts…LOL.
Ok, so we only got one of them done, but it was a fun day, with that dang song stuck in my middle ear.
Grant is DA man, he bent up the dripedge with his shrinkalater and stretchalater, and it was PERFECT..well, we did give him a sort of template. I mean it was a great job all around.
Here ya go…….
Oh and the last picture, is a ROSE, that we whacked out for the new love quest Dale has in mind…(off the clock, G-man..).

Ahhh, well..we stubled into a French Cafe there in Midway, seriously stumbled, it is an odd Cafe called Le Marches. Any who, I thinke we were the first not gay men to ever set foot in the place. The owner, is the cook, and she just went GAA-GAA over us.
Man it was like the twilight zone, all these blue haired ladys eating quiche and salad..we almost bailed out, being all muddy, sweaty and stuff. But we hung in there, and got to get a handle on our selves, and he was just drooling all that after noon..playing out his fantasy.
Well, he gave her a copper trash can ( like everybody at Christmas got LOL) and now he is really getting excited..we only saw her 3 times.
Divorcee I think, 8 yo son...smart, funny, and from NY. Classy actually..and not a bad looking woman..I guess 38. Today is her birthday, so we made a rose.
If I wasn't married, I'd be sniffing her tracks too. This might be a good one for him. I have my fingers crossed.
Thanks for making our job go easy.....Parolee # 40835

" I thought he was engaged"
Yeah, so did he. Naw, he got the ring back..man she was a Pc. Of work, unfinished work. Total whack job, and he FINALLY realized it well enough, to start shopping. I even offered to pay for his EHARMONY sign up fee, if he just quit trying to make her sane.Parolee # 40835

I get a kick out of all the odd work you guys do, and have fun at it besides. When you guys give grant the measurements for this stuff, how exact do you have to be? Do you just give him a couple radii, and some rough measurements. Is there a lot of field work, or just a little persuasion?
After you get all the copper fitted, what holds it in place, and how do you decide what to leave for expansion and contraction?Do you save all your scrap to offset the cost of your vacations?
I know I ask a lot of questions, I like to know how things go together.

We give things like Box gutter liners with in an 1/8th in widths, lengths to with in whatever works out to ten foot lengths. He usually adds some fudge factor and we trim to fit.
For those radii, we used a sheet of celotex sheathing and actually traced parts of the curves, and gave him total feet needed. He then extrapolated the full curve and made up the Drip edges. He then gave us pans with one edge haveing a lock that clamps to the DE overhang, we then fold the opposite side over the other DE and clamp it down.
"After you get all the copper fitted, what holds it in place, and how do you decide what to leave for expansion and contraction?"
We form interlocking folds and they are "tabbed" with small pcs. of copper crimped to the locks, and that is then copper nailed to the substrate,The tabs allow some freedom to move, but are invisible in the finished work. There is no caulk, no solder, no rivits in any of this parapet, it is all folded and locked to the nailed down DE.
All the scraps, get cut down to be tabs, or sold to the recycle center if they are useless. Grant hauls it in when accrues enough to make it work while, or it gets in his way.Parolee # 40835
Duane's probably typing an answer as I'm typing this, but I just finished bending the pieces they need for the other end before I start another project (38 pieces of drip edge and 23 pieces of valley) so I can head up your way in the AM. Duane and Dale scribed the curves on pieces of celotex which the wind promptly whipped in half. I radiused the drip edge to match the template and made top pieces that lock to the drip edge on either side to allow for expansion/contraction. The drip edge is nailed to two layers of PT plywood that the carpenters tapconned to the top of the parapets.I provide the copper and the fabrication, Duane, Dale and others do the installs for the most part. Scrap copper is only worth half what I paid for it at best, so I try to limit waste as much as possible.http://logancustomcopper.com

Very nice work. Do you install it from a boom lift?
Chuck Slive, work, build, ...better with wood
Yeah, that roof is about a 21/12, and we had too much fiddling around to do it off of a chicken ladder.Parolee # 40835
