I am a builder in Madison, Indiana working on a home that was built in the 1950’s. The client wants to keep the original custom-built metal cabinetry in the kitchen, but replace the original Thermador double oven with something more up to date. The problem being, when we remove the double ovens I am left with a rough opening of twenty-two inches wide. Where can I find a custom-built double oven, or a manufacturer that produces odd size appliances? At this point price really does not matter!

*Brian,I had a similar problem in Riyadh when we had to find an oven big enough to roast a whole sheep. Our problem was solved by a commercial appliance -- maybe that could be a solution for you?You might try posting this over in Cooks Talk.
*Brian, You could try poking around or asking here:http://www.applianceadvisor.com/FrameMain.htmSounds like a tough search.
*when a job requires unconventional dimensions, i start inquiring about european appliances...brian
*There's an apliance quy that looks in on the equipment folder there.
*I was thinking the same thing...euro or (gasp) recreational-vehicle type of stuff. the quality of RV stuff may be lacking, though it may lead you to aother source.
*Try http://www.we-sell-it.co.uk for some 560mm ovens. It should give you an overview of what's available, and perhaps you could find them locally.Or could you put the oven elsewhere and use the space for a built in microwave/appliance storage?
*jolly good show, cami a.brian
*:^)Cami(sorry, just couldn't resist....)
*Brian:What's wrong with the Thermador's? New they sell for more than some small cars. Are they for sale?Paul
