Anyone have any idea where I might start looking for someone to fab me several heavy duty timber hangers to carry some old 6X6 beams. Simpson doesn’t make anything that works on true 6×6, and I want to get that old, heavy duty look since the hangers will be visible in the finished space.
I’m in Boston. Where it has been raining non-stop for seven days.

I'm sure a welding fabricator could make you one. Try at a high school who has a welding course.
Simpsons has an Architectural Product, it is for custom pieces, I sure that they have the no-how to make you some hangers...

If they don't, copy a hanger that you like and write the measurement: Width, Height, and Base also the Ga. and show the welder the dimension and picture.
I know, the week was a wash out for me!!

On a previous job with a curved window wall I did the math, made the drawings and had a local welder make up the brackets for the framing for 9 windows. Worked out perfectly.
Now-a-days the same thing would need a PE's stamp and an extra $500 to get through the plan review.
I use one of three metal workers around here, but Simpson will make up anything you can draw too.
