Has anyone cut EMT (elecrical metalic tubing) with the 15.6v panasonic cordless saw? Panasonic claims it will cut 1/2 EMT in 3 seconds. If that is true it would cut it faster that a sawzall. The only conserns I have are that the blade will leave too many burrs in the conduit making reaming a real job and also the blades cost $30 so if the blade doesn’t last along time that could get expensive. Also do the nimh batteries that panasonic makes last through alot of recharge cycles?

I don't have the Panasonic, but I have been cutting EMT with my DeWalt 12v saw since '96 and it works just fine. Carbide blade, of course. Just don't apply too much pressure. Then ream the burrs. It also works well on cutting wire. Just zips through that AU 4/0 triplex at the panel.
As I recall, the P. is optimized for metal cutting. DeWalt is not. It should work better than the DW.

*We have also been cutting metal, EMT and square tube, even 3/16" plate, with 12V Dewalt saws. The burrs are not bad. Try to find the Tenryu metal cutting blade if you can, it works even better than Dewalt's does.
*I use my Panasonic 15.6 metal-cutter to cut EMT, gas pipe, all-thread, and the odd piece of rebar. It is WAY faster and cleaner than the Sawzall. I can hold the pipe in one hand and cut in the air if needed, but on a horse is better. Just let the tool do the work, and the cut end looks like it came off a Bridgeport. You will love it.Bill
*james1, cordless saws zip right thou met, if you are concerned about the burrs you can get a wire pipe reamer like the ones used to clean copper fittings that will fit into your cordless drill, haven't had any trouble with burrs that my makuta and klein pipe reamer haven't been able to handle faster than reaming after a saws alll session ( and if your like me the blade always seems to be dull and the blade moves the pipe and your armnestedd of cutting. give it a tryII think that you will be pleased)
