d-mix in bathrooms

james99 | Posted in General Discussion on July 7, 2005 05:29am

Is D-mix appropriate to use in bathrooms?  I don’t want to have a weak bond or the paint peel due to steam condensing on the walls.  I am trying to smooth out the wall surfaces.

TIA.

James

Should work.  Its just drywall mud & primer.

coffee talk became a joke because the initial author about the dmix used a dunkin donuts small coffee cup as a measuring for the plaster of paris ingredient.
Little play on words is all.
no coffee in the mix unless you wanted to try making a tan stain into it:o)

What IS the original recipe for D-mix? It came up while I was on maternity and a search turned up zilch (prospero doesn't seem to like me).

can I buy you a cup o' joe?

I have no idea what cup o" joe is...But I say yes.

Nothing to be excited or afraid of the unknown (cup o' Joe)..

..I will never see it anyway.

Even if you buy it for me...you probably give it to Razzman.

            Better ask him.

Dino my friend..being as we are sharing poetry..here is one of mine

We walked down all the rythems. we tread on our leaves.

softly, with care we solve our intrracacyies.

Deep in ponder we wonder why

knowing all along it is  nothing but us

working our love toward each other

uphill, battle..name it and see it..it is still an illusion

            no matter what

Fire in the heart is often used as an excuse

to be free in the moment is expansive and expensive as well

What with do we create our reality..do we own it?

            do we buy it?

After all, it is only you that matters

Reach out, touch someone..share with them your light..your visions, your soul..they need it as much as you need to shed it...

Cry out..cry..just wonder why..touch it,,,feel it....relive it until it is clear to you and everyone around you, that you are universally loved by all that is.  Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

            And she blossum

Feel free to correct me here. Is one thing not to speak English,

Is murder to translate a nice poem ...with bad English.

Now I'm sure the breaktime poets will show up.  Sometimes you get some strange poetry here!  Just start one line and let someone else take over, no one knows what it will end up like.

            hey Mark,,,

The yellow liquids of dogs feed my mind

not careing, not aiming..expulsion is both here and now

Mark your space in this place..a lifetime of pee..you own it once you place it away from yourself..it lives

Maddy was a trip...she had gold pupils..fire in a vacuum. Lost. I tried to dive in..a wall of pain..my soul went south in a breeze of liquidity..flowing like a dog peeing on thge wheels of someone elses life.

At the very last stage of finishing

you can throw some dry colors on the wall.

Then you can paint the whole thing...white.

          40. FastEddie1 | Jul 10, 2005 12:07am | #27

you can throw some dry colors on the wall.

Now you're talking like an 'artiste'.  If you broadcast dry colors onto the wet mix, then trowel lightly, will you get a marbled finish?

I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

          41. dinothecarpenter | Jul 10, 2005 12:17am | #30

Why? what do you thing we're here? We build and create every day.

We're the real artistas. If I thought construction wasn't art..I be a full time poet or something else.

You can try to throw some stuff on the wall, right before the very final passes with the trowel. Before that it will blend in and become one color.
