The wife snagged 3 of these Walnut chairs today..3 dollars a pc.
The backs are pivotal, they adjust to the sitter.
I have never seen such a chair, but hey, they are way cool..Any help on the manufact. oer designer?

I would guess Danish from the 70's, but that's just a guess.

Yeah. These are Danish Modern circa 70?
Awesome comfortable, but elusive as to re-fabriqe , cus the only one that has a back that departs is kinda fuqqued in the hardware dept.
Now my venture is finding the fourth, here in KY..it may have been firewood ora movie prop. or an impletment in a murder.
Ye ever get that gut feeling?

Oh jeezus..Knoll !!!!
I used to live there, hell, I am BIL to the LeMay family..
So that precludes my first take..I went for a Dane/Italian/ LANE design...I saw the design and went northern. My bad, and my worse bad is I want...
We fabreeezed the twill ( all woolen) and Muleteemed the cushions for bugs, I was fixen to steelwool the wood with a 4/0 and then thougght better.
So I just used a bit Murphy's in a 10/1 ratio, and a teeee shirt type wiper...I did good.
I will say, these are the bestest chairs, I have seen in quite some time..as the whistler says, they rock!
Ok, I'll esplain Lucy..when one creates a rocker ( ing) chair, it is not advised to whistle while one works, the chair will s(P) queak..if you doubt, it'll shout.
Nah,,BS..LOL.

These chairs are almost identical to a set of six I purchased years ago along with a dining table and huge buffet for the dining room. They were purchased from a company called Scandinavian Sun here in Louisville. I would suggest to you that the wood is teak rather than walnut.
The seat coverings have the identical pattern. We just had them recovered after moving into a different house. The workmanship on the furniture we have is unbelievable. The buffet has tambour doors which run the length of the piece (6') which, when partially open or closed, appear as one piece of wood with no seams visible after 20+ years.

So, you found an outside spot in Kentucky flat enough to display the chairs.
