hello all,
Anyone used Danze faucets?? any good?? Price, description, and warranty would all indicate that they are, but I was just wondering if anyone had real world use of them.
Thanks

NFG as they say.
I had one that lasted about two years.
Take this for what it's worth. I started working for the company in July.
They don't have Kohler's name/age but are better than Moen or Delta. The line itself (DANZE) is 3 years old but the company has been around since 1978. The company is seriously and actively trying to eliminate any problems with design/function/finish. The DANZE part of the company is small, so I work intimately with Tech Support, Parts, the warehouse/shipping and so forth.
TomChark - I would be very interested in knowing the item/model number you had and what problems you ran into. Tech Support needs to hear about this stuff. Thx. Santa baby, put a Manlift under the tree, for me. Been an awful good girl <g>
Plant,
Thanks for the reply. I hadn't heard of them, and the plumber I'm working with has no experience with them. As I said above these are the ones the wife fell for. Do you know if they've had any issues with the oil rub bronze finish?
Also, they say lifetime warranty. Has it been your experience the company is generally interested in sticking to that??
Thanks
D
So they say lifetime warranty. Did you ever try to contact their customer service?? if so, good or bad experience. These of course are the "exact" ones DW has been looking for, style and color wise.
Thanks
D
I didn't know they only started the Danze line three years ago till Plant told us. So I must have gotten one of the first ones they put out. It's a kitchen faucet with separate hot and cold handles installed in a rental. The faucet started leaking at the base of the spout after about two years of service. Being in a rental I didn't have the luxury of finding out the problem and hunting for parts so I just bought a Waltec and swapped it. It'd probably just need an O ring but since I didn't have any use of it I just threw it out.May be I should have try contacting customer service, I didn't know they have lifetime warranty. Besides it wasn't that expensive and I had no intention of cleaning it up. To be fair it was a rental so the tenants weren't exactly taking good care of it either.I know the one that DW was talking about, that costs what? about $400? I like the look of that one too. Try to find out if the finish is real oiled bronze, sometimes it's just an applied finish and that wouldn't be pretty after a little while. May be Plant can find that out for you. Moen has served me good. I have one for 26 years now, no leak, still the original cartridge and the chrome finish is as good as new. The old Moen cartridge is solid brass while the new ones are plastic and those usually last for a couple of years.
Thanks for the reply, I don't know if Danze has a couple of different quality levels, but the faucets my wife has picked are all over $150 up to 400 for that kitchen one. Not stuff I'd be putting in rentals. I was just hoping to find some more info on them before sinking a small fortune into my faucets, hope plantlust chimes back in after the Turkeys' settled

For what it's worth...my wife and I recently did a major bathroom remodel, gutted to the studs and joists. After looking at fixtures until I was dreaming about them, we settled on a Danze wall fixture for above a basin sink. (about 250 bucks, single handle, spout coming out of the wall.) the finish is good and the fixture does have very nice clean lines. However I've discovered that before I tile the backsplash I need to open up the wall and completely encase the valve assembly in spray foam or something because it is loud as hell. In the tub / shower, we originally were not too concerned about the asthetics of the fixture so I bought a decent setup from Home Depot (about a hundred bucks, their Pegasus line). After installing it, we decided we really didn't like the looks of it and so decided to switch it out for a Danze fixture that matched the sink (about 260 bucks). I'm thinking I'm not too thrilled about replumbing a new mixing valve, but hey, it should be alot better quality, so deal with it. Anyway, the new Danze fixture shows up and the mixing valve is IDENTICAL to the home depot one. Hmmm...I just paid an extra 160 bucks for essentially a better looking face plate, tub spiggot, and shower head. (same finish metal by the way) On the plus side, all I had to do was put the mixing valve from danze in the Home Depot box and return it. I don't know if this means I was getting a good deal on a reasonably good quality product at Home Depot, or I overpaid for a piece of crap from Danze. Granted the mixing valve seemed ok, no plastic parts, all brass / copper, etc. Needless to say, I'll be checking behind the access panel with some degree of regularity until I feel a little more comfortable with it.
i have installed a few at clients insistence, but dont recommend them
replacement parts are NOT available and quality is very poor in my experience
stick to well made faucets from Moen, Delta and others
caulking is not a piece of trim
