went to the Marina Grill on Goat Island for lobster and a sunset cruise on the Aurora.. a 1947 Maine fishing schooner
here’s the Marina , which used to be the old Port Control office when the Navy still had Goat Island..
and some happy people eating lobster…
and a view of the main deck of the Aurora.. 101′ on deck

The house on the rocks looks very cool, is it lived in currently?
Nice series of pics, but what was your title that it got edited?Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, Professionals built the Titanic.
have no idea about the title.. i think it was the word "a"..

Seeing as how Newport in only a 40 minute ride for me we hit it about twice a year. Beautiful in the summer. Nice coastline, houses are nutts and the old mansion tours are always a hoot. "And the fireplace over here was from a French Chateau and was dismantled and shipped to this house, in here the ceiling is 24K gold leaf........" say what?
In 100 years I don't think we'll hear tours of...."and as you can see the claps are Masonite, and the trim is 100% compressed dust, as you can see they skimped on the HVAC install to afford the granite counters,.......now on into what they called the garage....."
SJKnow a little about alot and alot about little.
My sister and BIL just spent a year in Newport, courtesy of the Army. Never made it up there to see the place, and visit. Looks beautiful. Regret not making the time.
(Did go visit them at the new place in New Mexico a couple of weeks ago. Whole different kind of beauty.)
