Got to play exterminator this weekend. Bombed mom’s place for wasp’s. Think they were getting in through the canopy over the chandelier. Canopy cap popper down form the spinning that she does to clean it.
Over to sister in laws house. Something funky in that closet……I’ve smelled that before, we’s gots a dead mouse. Said a prayer that it wasn’t in the wall and emptied out the closet. Found the little bastard in between the Dcon bait box and the hole in the wall.
Disposed of said mouse and pumped hole in wall full of spray foam. Tore out carpet and pad in closet and replaced. Still smell like a dead
mouse in there.
Last dead mouse we had didn’t find it until spring time, any suggestion on getting Mickey’s smell out of the closet?

Wash it down with 50/50 PineSol/water.
You'll smell the pine sol for a while, then you won't smell anything.
Bonus is that any microbials around, get murdelated.
before you post it, ask yourself this question: Would my grandma twist my ear off for saying that? If the answer is yes, ditch it.

scrub down the surfaces - generous amount of baking soda over the floor - if it's in the clothing, hang it out in the fresh air for a day -
Better still, wash the clothing in case the mouse pooped in the pockets.
Mice will eat right through spray foam. Try covering the hole with a hard surface such as drywall, wood or concrete, depending on what is around it. I've also heard that stuffing it with steel wool works, but haven't had too much sucess with it.
You're right about the spray foam, using copper to stuff the hole works best, they will chew through steel wool. An odor eliminator with natural enzymes works best - one brand name is Bac-A-Zap (I use often) but not everyplace has it....
Febreze can take care of an amazing amount of stink. You can use it in the laundry, too.
I take it the tenacious name got booted too?
