I just completed the construction of an 1800sf deck for myself. The species I used was Meranti(?), marketed as mahogony. The stuff is so dense it sinks like a stone when you drop it in the water. I used concealed fasteners throughout (Tebos). I would be happy letting the deck wheather to gray but my wife is adament about applying a clear finish, particularly one that would give the deck a glossy look as if it had just rained. Any product recommendations? Preferably something that even she can apply without to much trouble.
