I’ve built a lot of Trex decks lately and I’ve learned that even an 1/8″ difference in joist crown shows. I have my guys power plane to get all the joists level and they are constantly complaining, “There has got to be an easier/faster way!” Anybody know of one???

No. =)
A crew that doesn't bitch about their jobs maybe? LOL =)
Seriously though, we've run into the same problem and planing shavings' all we do too.
Thanks. I'm printing that and nailing it to a railing post this morn.
Seems like you ought to be able to clamp all the joists together prior to installation and come up with a quicker way to create a uniform finish that will insure a consistent and level surface.
Just a DIY'er thinking out loud,
MichaelNew knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.
