I will be building a deck and would like to stain the post and rails with a white solid stain, so I’d like to avoid the cracking/warping/twisting that occurs with pressure treated.
What is a better option than PT, but will not break the bank (i.e. red cedar). Is there something in between these two options that would be a good choice?
Thanks for any help on this topic….

This one's white oak, but was a bit of work to make. Bought it rough, so it was pretty affordable. Holding up pretty well, tho' I do touch up the paint every spring. Even has LED rope lighting in the base rail on the steps. I did use PT for the posts, mainly because it's easier to get than 6X6 WO. Decking is ipe.
