Hello! I have been tasked with installing a 60 mil EPDM rubber roof over a newly existing treated plywood deck. 3/4″ ply over 2X10 treated joists 12″ OC (overbuilt, fer sure) (10X20 overall size) Here’s the kicker: homeowner wants cedar 5/4X6 decking laid upon treated sleepers. Am thinking about gluing the EPDM doewn, laying treated sllepers over same un-attached, and using ss screws to attach cedar decking to sleepers with screws of length so as to not puncture EPDM, essentially creating a large single deck surface to float on roof. Deck is almost flat:1/4″ in 10 ft slope. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks

U have the right general idea. Use the advanced search here for EPDM, Decks, and Ipe` and you should find some previous discussions and photos of several I hae done. Any more questions, lay them out after reading your homework assignment. See you tomorrow. I'm going to bed.

Excellence is its own reward!
Put strips of the EPDM on the bottom of the sleepers to lessen the chance of puncturing it.
I would make the deck in sections, like 4x4 panels so the HO can periodically clean under it (leaves, etc).
