For those of us who aren't up on the latest lingo, what does "deep energy retrofit" mean?

Sorry for the lack of clarity....essentially, a lot of my house is getting older to the point of needing to be replaced. New roof, new siding, new windows, etc needed, along with wanting to install central a/c and doing some other interior renovations. The idea being that if these systems are replaced at the same time, a better quality can be achieved and my home can perform better than if I replace the windows now, replace the siding later, and the roof following that. I don't think I need someone that is an extreme specialist, but was hoping to find someone who has a little bit more experience with air sealing, adding insulation, and energy efficiency.
