I had a finish carpenter build remodel my office a few years ago. One of the tools he used the most was a Delta Saw Buck. It looks like a cross between a chap saw and a radial arm saw.
I checked with the manufacturer (Delta) and they no longer make the Saw Buck. I have found them for sale on the internet. I’m just wondering why they aren’t made anymore.
Does anyone out there have an opinion on whether it is a tool worth having or not? I actually want to buy one myself. I am in the throes of trimming out a house I am building for myself and the Saw Buck looks like a great tool. Let me know what all of you out there think!

I've used the sawbuck. I thought it was kinda a pain to have to thread the stock in from the side due to the rails on the thing. Did nice work, liked the large table - but I had been using a sliding compound miter before the sawbuck and that continues to be my choice today.
Have you had much experience with a sliding compound miter saw? Does all the same things (except maybe cut as wide of stock) in a much more user freindly way
