From building boxes and fitting face frames to installing doors and drawers, these techniques could be used for lots of cabinet projects.

A PHONE CALL TO THE INSPECTION OFFICE WOULD BE A GOOD FIRST STEP. DEMO, THOUGH, IS PROBABLY OK, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T COMPROMISE THE INTEGRETY OF THE REMAINING STRUCTURE.
AND AN EVEN BETTER IDEA IS TO turn off the caps lock key :)
Do it right, or do it twice.
Thanks for your help. I need to visit the city anyway. Oh, and I got that coca-cola out of my keyboard.
Yep, I know that sensation, but it was Dr Pepper on mine.

steve, there are regional (personal) differences in all inspection depts. I would think most would allow you to proceed if notified. The bldg dept's around here would have no problem if kept informed. However, you don't want to piss off the pope.
If you start even demo b/4 they puke out a permit they could intrepret it as - you know so much about building that you think you can sidestep their ordered process.
Be advised that some municipalities have demo permits that are required.
Further, you could be liable if by chance they refuse to issue a permit and you are required to bring the site up to what it was. You don't want to screw yourself.
Best of luck.

I agree with both you guys and try to get permission in the morn.
