Yeah, I agree ... the 'golden section' has been noted in architecture and art through centuries as the most pleasing ratio of width to height of a design element. While you don't always adhere to it ... or need to, it can be a deciding factor in what might look best. So whatever looks good is fine, but if something isn't quite coming together, it may lead to a good solution.
