Bought a little 10inch Hitachi miter saw today for carrying around ease of mobility and upstairs kind of thing. Seemed pretty sound for a hundred bucks.
When investigating other makes I looked at the 10inch Dewalt which had the same possible up to 52degree hash marks as the Hitachi.
The Hitachi actually can be turned to pick up to 54degrees if wanted on both left and right turning on the table
but when checking the Dewalt noticed the hash marks on the left, tho’ marked up to 52degrees, had a molded stop that unlike the right side would prevent the table being moved past the 50degree mark.
Made me start to wonder how an engineer could design such an inconsistency and the company place it into production.
Not a big thing but just a noticeable lack between the two sides of the saw. Made me start to question the quality of the rest of the product.

A bunch of saws have that incongruity.
I always thought they were trying to balance a wide swing
with a generous table.
Just a guess.
Milwaukee and Bosch swing to 60 degrees...
