I’ll start right away with my question then explain why I’m asking it. Does anybody know if Dewalt is getting rid of OR trying to lower their prices on their line of 28v tools to increase their sales?
The reason I am asking is because I was just looking around on three tool websites up here in Canada and noticed that there are excellent prices going on now with Dewalt 28v tools. Some are even cheaper than their 18v “cousins” also by Dewalt.
DC310K – Dewalt 28v circular saw = $189
DC315k – Dewalt 28v reciprocating saw = $189 (the 18v model DC385K + $229)
DCX5200 – Dewalt 28v hammerdrill & circular saw = $299
DCX5210 – Dewalt 28v hammerdrill & reciprocating saw = $299
DC910KL – Dewalt 28v hamerdrill/driver/drill = $279
DC413KL – Dewalt 28v cut-off tool (grinder) = $259 (18v model DC410k = $339)
It strikes me as being odd why thses tools are so low in price consdering ALL of them have Dewalt’s new battery Nano. The first thing that came to mind was that Dewalt were trying to get rid of the 28v line.
I already have Dewalt’s 18v impact driver as well as their hammerdrill/drill/driver and I love them. They’ve been very useful to me and now I wanna get some more cordless tools.
Here’s another question, should I keep buying Dewalt 18 v tools so that ALL of my batteries will be useable with one another or should I take advantage of the prices with the 28v tools? I’ve read that that the 28v batteries aren’t all that heavy so I’m not deterred by the heavy tool thinking.
