I am thinking on buying de new dewalt 745 table saw, anybody used yet?, I need a table saw as compact as it gets, so the 744, bosch and rigid are not a choice.

I've had the larger Dewalt portable table saw for years now. Absolutely love it. the new smaller one just looks like a smaller version. The sliding fence system is the best of any saw. Plenty powerful too. Chuck
If your lucky, you mayy find a coouple of threads from a few weeks ago in the tool folder by doing a search.
Cocensus seems to be it's a great saw, just a little pricey.

It's Never Too Late To Become What You Might Have Been
Eric is right, there was a thread about a month or so ago about that saw. The upshot was that it is a great little saw, only rips to 16" and doesn't take a dado. It's perfect for doing a kitchen or hauling up 3 flights to have the saw right there where the work is being done. I almost got it myself but there was a deal on a brand new 744 with the stand that I just couldn't pass up, and I'm very glad I went with it.
I have the little Makita 8 1/4" that isn't made anymore and that everybody is bidding on E-bay for, that along with the Rousseau table insert has been my setup for many years. I have had the saw for almost 20 years and I am dreading the day that it dies so I'm keeping it well groomed. Can't understand why they don't market the thing anymore, it was one of their most popular tools and a mainstay in the home and field for HO and pros alike.
I would think that this little 745 would take off. It's the perfect size for a trim carp.
I have had that same 8 1/4" Makita for about 20 yrs. too. Its the lightest table saw Ive ever seen. I can carry it with one hand and carry the stand in the other hand. It seems to have plenty of power and Ive never had a problem with it. Its the oldest Makita saw I have except for a red Makita circular saw (that still works) and is now used for cutting concrete and stucco.

You might want to look at this thread. Have not been through all of it, but one of the last messages says.
"JLC will have a really, really good review of the new Dewalt 745 in the February issue...don't ask me how I know this.. ;)"
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
