Decks must be able to withstand high winds, so choose fasteners that offer the uplift resistance you need for your area.

*Thanks guys.Pipewrench and channellocks worked fine.
*Ken,I had that problem with my 18v Dewalt. Took it to the tool repair shop, they replaced the chuck with a $45 jacobs. Dewalt considers occasional rubbing against drywall to be "abuse" so doesn't cover the chuck replacement.Moral-don't let your chuck rub against anything, it will go and go...I've beat the bejeezus out of that drill since then. Use it every day. No further problems.MD
*Ken... I had the same problem with my 18 volt Dewalt.I used channel locks pipe wrench trick for a while then one day I noticed there is an allen screw in the chuck..it has a left hand thread ...turned it a few turns (to tighten?) ...solved my problem, works like a new one now.
