Thought I’d use one to inspect inaccessible areas of my attic.
Well, idea is a complete FAIL. Absent plenty of ambient light, the ‘borescope’ can only see for a few inches with the LED light in the nose.
Very happy I borroed the tool, rather than bought it.

Ask if your local utility has a deal on an energy inspection-they find the cold spots and the air leaks.

See about one on your own.
or
Find someone with an infrared camera and pay them to come over and "look" around. Their amazing tools. expensive to buy, but amazing at finding temp differences.
On some houses you could use it as a stud finder and be very accurate.
