Hi, My new garage is under construction in our home in Toronto.I have hear that epoxy flooring systems have exceptional abrasion resistance. Most of the homeowners are even now using epoxy systems to cover defects in their old flooring slabs. I came across this site while searching about epoxy coatings
http://www.floortex.ca/products-and-services/epoxy-coatings/
What type of epoxy coating does people normally do for garages?

Epoxy floor coatings are rapidly being replaced by Silicone Polymer Anhydrous Miscible floor coatings. Floortex or any similar bramd of antiquated epoxy sealants will not perform as well as SPAM, and will likely dissapear from the market in the near future.
Hey Mark, maybe you can say a little more about this SPAM product. Sounds great! Anywhere in southern Minnesota that I can get it??
Right now, I am the only distributor, so if you want a to buy some shares in the company, get in touch. You'll make millions I tell you.
I epoxied my basement slab about a year ago and I'll likely use the same stuff on my garage slab.
I went with a 100% solids epoxy. Went over that with polyurethane with mixed in metallic powder. The urethane protects the epoxy (added wear layer plus UV protection) and the metallic powder gives a slight texture for added traction.
Indoor Use Only!
A point to remember is that ALL epoxies degrade pretty fast when exposed to sunlight. That's why the drive-way coating outfits are so keen on the 'service' contracts, where every year they apply some new epoxy to the top.
