I’m retrofitting a waterproofing system on the exterior side of my cmu foundation/basement wall and I would like to include dimple drain board in the design. However, I have a unique situation on the front wall. The cinder block changes from 8” to 12” blocks 2-3 feet below grade so there’s a bump out then the wall plane continues down to the footing. On top of that the switch from 8” to 12” block occurs in about 6’ sections at different elevations/courses so the bump out isn’t one continuous ledge. I was thinking I could use separate pieces of dimple board above each different ledge section and fabricate it like drip cap flashing overlapping the dimple board below and taping all the seams. I wasn’t sure if all the seams created by doing it this way would turn it into more of a hassle than it’s worth. Im curious if anyone has any better ideas or maybe a different method/material entirely would be better suited for this scenario.
