Anyone know where I might lay my hands on a couple of new/used Bosch 3294EVS Inline Grip Jig Saws?
Googling the net I can find little or no mention of this fine tool, including the Bosch website, so I presume it has been discontinued.
Mine just died a sad & violent death, being crushed by a 1,000# oak beam.
After observing a brief moment of silence in respect, I swept up the myrid pieces and buried them in the dumpster.
I miss the little guy, it was a very handy tool for jobs that required more finesse then a Sawsall but were too tough for a rotozip and too awkward for a conventional jigsaw.
I have and use daily the Makita cordless version, but it just doesn’t have the power or stamina the Bosch did.
Any leads would be appreciated….

Have you looked at E-bay?
I'm an Internet God, have my own servers, been online since darpanet, etc., and yes, I looked at eBay, hell, I looked everywhere.....
Waiting for a response from Bosch as to why they took such a fine tool off the market.....
My sympathies in your loss...
May he rest in piece(s)
;-)
I feel for you. I have noticed that about the time I find a tool, or darn near anything else, that I like and trust the company, you would have a hard time proving this isn't an evil plot, discontinues the line. When it is something I can afford to do it with I have now started buying two or three of the particular item. I realize there is no comfort in this for you and I have no easy solution for you. I wish I did. There are many items that I wish I could find.
I hope you find what you are looking for. Good luck.
Yanno?
I'm in our nation's capital. Our main grocery chains are Safeway & Giant. I shop both, and have discount cards for both. Sometimes it seems like they track just my purchases, then drop stuff I buy from the shelves....
It's a Left-Wing Conspiracy! I'll bet Al Gore's behind this.
Sure, that's it, the Bosch in line jigsaw was a major cause of global warming, Al forced them to discontinue it.....
Still have yet to receive a response from Bosch....
On a loosely related subject, I have sixteen 12' oak planks, actually 1" to 1-1/8" x 10", planed & jointed one side, but only out of the tree maybe 3 months, not kiln-dried.
I need someone within 50 miles of Washington DC to resaw them in half. This isn't for furniture, just for decorative trim in a custom house, need not be perfectly cut. Using them to cover pressure-treated support beams & columns, owner wants rough look.
Know anybody with a big heavy-duty bandsaw?

Wayne Dunlap, Dunlap Woodcrafts, in Chantilly used to have a big monster. Go to http://www.dunlapwoodcrafts.com for the particulars. His shop is a couple of miles from Dulles.

Lordbite,
If you find some make it public, I have one and I cherish it fondly. I only hope it lasts as long as I do! Why did they quit making them?!! DIPSTICKS!! what where they thinking?
What were they thinking? Not much, apparently....
Have you tried the Bosch service centers listed on their web pages? Mine can from the (since closed) Phily center.
Dear Bosch,
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,Tom
The more I think about ......why doesn't Bosch chase down some remaining tools for us? They know their suppliers......their the ones gettin our $$$$
Thanks Al, will check them out Monday morning....
tried a pawn shop? thier all over the place, couple in mannassas, a few up route 1 dale city, I think, but, the way these guys price tools, expect to pay what they cost new.no turn left unstoned
I hear ya, man. I got no idea what somma dese tool companies are t'inking about sometimes.
The best framing hammer ever made came from Vaughan in the late 1980's. It was called the California Framer, but it isn't the one you see on the rack today. This one had a slightly smaller head, and octagonal neck, a C/G a little farther back than the modern CF, and about a 5 or 6 degree forward cant on the face relative to the handle. Basically, it was a rig axe head with a rip claw. Outstanding hammer.
I've asked the Vaughan family in person why they discontinued that and never really got an answer.
Then there's the Senco 325+. Oh, let's not even get me going on that one.

i have seen them on ebay but only on rare occasions, there is a reason noone wants to part with his, you might try a bosch finecut without the cheezy mitre attachment, not quite as good for rough work but still a very handy implement
I have about the same problem. I have my dads 3x21" frieght train" belt sander. It went down in a room full of smoke sanding an oak floor. It was a great tool that served him for years and me too. I also spent several moments of silence and several ah s##ts. I still have it in the shop on the top shelve. May it rest in peace.
I could buy another , but I already have two portacables . I was fond of its weight on a floor, and the fact that it was the last power tool I have of my dads , but thats about it . Much too heavey to hold .
And Piffin got my line again . So, what Piffin said .,

Thanks Bob, this one appeared to be a very badly designed website, but by grapping their page code I managed to get to the entry where they do list it for sale. Again I sent an email inquiry and will let all know the results.
On an un-related matter, still no luck in finding someone to resaw my oak planks, so if anyone has any additional leads it would be greatly appreciated.
lordbite contact woodmizer.com they might be able to put you in contact with someone with a portable saw mill that can come on site and resaw them for you.
I had trouble accessing the site you listed, but a search came up with this site for the hardware store. Give em a call lordbite and let allen know if they have it available, he's been looking for one I think.

It figures the Navy won't let you surf, hell, navy recruits don't even have to know how to swim these days....
