I’m thinking about getting a laser measure and leaning toward the D2. I do quite a bit of interior trim and I’m sure it will be fine there, but how well do they work outdoors?

I just got the D3 the other day. So I've only been messing with it so far.
But as long as it's not bright sun, it seems to be fine outside. And the device itself will function in bright sun, you'll just have trouble identifying the target while aiming. Interior-wise I think you'll find it to be terrific.

I have been using the stabila, and it has been great. Just finished a built in today and used it several times. It's been a life saver when working solo on some framing chores. Not cheap, though.
