DIY addition built on top of driveway
Finalizing budget on a flip. Original build p&b, addtions are DIY. Turns out this DIY fiasco was built on top of the driveway. Its roughly 34L x 12 w with interior walls dividing it into 3 rooms.
This is NOT in budget. Can I simply dig out enough earth to put in spot supports ie piers along perimieter wall refill void w concrete. Original drive would still be under walls…piers under slab. Would this normally pass code?
This does not walk uneven, no sighs of sinking or other issues.

So what your saying is what can I do to hide a f*** u* for the next buyer because it's not in the budget. Read the title of this website and act accordingly
There's always one who castigates the asking party. Thanks for validating.
Probably not but without more info we couldn't even guess. You need help from your building inspector as well as a good engineer. The seller is required to reveal things like this before the sale as are you when you sell it. It might be worth spending a few bucks with a real estate lawyer to see what your rights are if you didn't know upfront.
Thanks
For an addition on perimeter footings and raised floor, it is OK if footings are deep enough (deeper than driveway slab) and if you have enough underfloor clearance.
You are bound by the wisdom of the Building Inspector. Code is not specific or logical.
Thanks
