I'm not sure I understand your question, but here are a couple suggestions: make sure the bricks are not holding up something that is going to fall down when you knock out the brick, wear safty glasses/goggles at the minumm, strdy gloves, steel toe boots, a hard hat and if working indoors, a respirator might also be a good idea.
