What's the adress, that SOB stole my ladder. But why in the hell did they tear off the cup holder that I attached to the top to hold my beer.
Maybe it is a trellis for something they're going to plant to partially conceal the dish :)
From previous threads, we have the attached pics.

You guys are such primadonnas- those scaffolding pics are some fine examples of what the competition is willing to work with- why do you see a problem with it? lol
Bob
I finally had a chance to search the BT archives. I knew I posted some pics of some local scaffolding. These are pics I originally posted 1/31/2005, so I took the pics either Jan of last year or Dec of 2004.
What do you want to bet that if I drove by the house today, that fancy scaffolding would still be there?

Ahh, I've been waiting for my type of scaffolding to come up- why use valuable framing lumber when you can get old pallets for free? They're almost made to be free scaffolding!zak
If those things are still up there a year later, I think we have to refer to them as a "porch" instead of scaffolding.

Doesn't "lanai" sound so much better than porch? I wish I had a full wraparound second story porch like that. I can't quite imagine using a rocking chair up there though. Bosun's chair maybe.zak
Pretty neat....handrails and everything. Careful dude.
Hard to tell where the house ends and the 'scaffolding' begins...
For an assembly of boards, you can't beat the guy's ingenuity. It looks like he went out of his way to make it strong. Short spans, lots of strength in the braces, etc... He just worked from the top down instead of the bottom up. If I got a look at how many nails he held it up with, I might even think about standing on it.
Is this anywhere near where Junkhound is?

ha ha ha, just about fell out of my chair laughing. You want to know what is REALLY funny? His parents are from here and I think his Mom and another relative (bro?) still live in town (I'm not kidding). And IIRC they are in a part of town which used to be OK, but isn't any more ...which describes the area where the ... scaffolding ..is located. :)

Hey! - your scaffolding_1 pic is from one of my jobs! :-) The angle of the camera hides the way the guy kicked holes in the sheathing to put up his 1x4 braces - hey - maybe that's not my job! - my guy was first class - he used 2x4s stole form the builder next door! - that was right before I said "let me free up your schedule..." :-)
So that's what a strawbail house looks like.
Watched an hour show on "bamboo scaffolding" in Japan. Supposed to be the strongest scaffolding in the world. Really interesting watching them put it up. One team is in charge of all the lashing...thats all these guys ever do. The bamboo sways a little in the wind but will never break or fall. Very cool to watch! If Blodgett says Tipi Tipi Tipi, it must be so!
I wish I had pics of the pieces of 1/2" copper pipe an old boss used to replace fuses that kept blowing.
That ain't nuthin'. Went all the way around and up 5 gables just like this.

Look at the size of that battery on that cordless weed eater.
What also cracks me up is they got satellite TV, but the water's pouring in where the flashing's missing on that chimney. Have to get out the rain suit and umbrella to watch Jerry Springer.

Will add my 'cheapest shed yet' pix to this thread when I get home tomorrow.
I came across this blog about a redneck neighbor. It is pretty long but is accompnaied with links to actual photos of this guys house (priceless). I swear it will bring tears to your eyes from laughing...especially towards the end. This may even deserve its own thread. Enjoy

I didnt read the whole blog yet but some of the pics are funny as shid!
If I was the mailman I'd be scared to get near that box, the good lord may come crashing down on you!

I read the whole thing. I don't believe that the OP made that stuff up, but some of it is a little suspect. Like in the first picture of the flagpole, the clouds look fake. But overall it sure looks like a neighbor I don't want.

That is an old, old thread. In fact I think what is posted at that link was something that someone copied and pasted to save it. And a number of the links are dead.At the time, it has circulated around here, it was vetted as being real. Think that there where some links to news reports on it.
At leat they wired it at the top!
