Do you own a Milwaukee portable bandsaw?
I made this mount for it, and it gets a lot of use… I’ll never use a hacksaw again.
Basically, I mounted it vertical with a couple of side support blocks and the hold-down block that actually acts as a trigger lock as well.
I made a small table from a 1/4″ plate of aluminum, and the whole deal is turned on via a footswitch.
Need to cut something? Bamn – walk up to it and cut it in seconds, no vise, no setup at all.
I had picked up this deep-cut bandsaw at a rummage sale the day before a stairway job and had rigged up something similar on the jobsite to cut the iron balusters. It was sitting in the case after that and I figured why not set this up to get some daily use out of it??
Works great.
These can be had all day long on CL for about $100 – well worth it even if you have no need for it to be used portable. As a standalone metal cutting station, it’s small, powerful and handy as heck.

Good job with your Milwaukee! I have one and have often considered doing exactly what you did. The setup is great for cutting small pieces of metal but its design does limit the machine's applications.
Specifically, you couldn't rip or resaw wood - a perfect apllication for a band saw. While the Milwaukee has over a 4 inch thickness capacity, the blade is almost in a plane with the motor housing. This means you are limited to well under an inch if you were cutting anything longer than about 3 inchs (distance from blade to motor housing). Still your setup does make sense for those small metal cuts that are a pain with a hacksaw.
Thanks for posting the pictures - I may still make a stand for my machine.
