   Okay - here's up top.  Before anybody blames my Seal-O-Flex, this was done by the original roofers we hired back in 1992.  I was supposed to re-top-coat it every five years or so, and I just didn't . . .

   I've outlined the squashy areas with sharpie -

   The whole expanse is about 16x22'.  House is square; main roof is hipped in a "U".  this fills in the center back -

   Cut out all the bad area coverage with a knife and peeled off the fabris; CDX underneath -

   Back below, I'm draining the insulation through the poly VB before I pull it out, to decrease the yick factor -View Image

   Just when you thought you were almost finished with the house...

   but now that you're "only " working 4 days a week, you'll have plenty of time to fix the roof, patch the ceiling, paint, etc. LOL

   And I was mostly painting the front of the house today!  

   I think I'm gonna skip the Octoberfest and pumpkin-carving party tomorrow and catch up.

   Forrest - wanted to redo that plain bathroom anyway

   Yep!

   Got it all cut out and re-decked today - misssed the Octoberfest, but made my boss's boss's pumpkin-carving party.

   Here's all the 15-year-old 3/4" CDX cut out in squares down to the old 1x -View Image

   Ooogey detail - rafters are still okay - Poured on the MinWax wood consolidant just as a precaution -View Image

   New 3/4" screwed down -View Image

   I use Bondo to  fill the cracks; not as an adhesive, but as a non-shrinking gap filler - will sand later -View Image

   Ready to sand and smooth; will pick up seal-O-Flex at 6 AM tomorrow -View Image

   Ya know-

   except for that skylight in the middle of it, that flat roof looks like a pretty nice place to sit and watch the stars

   Right, but that big skylight is over our big shower with three shower heads, AKA "the Rumpus Room".

   Can see stars from there, too.  Even a moon.

   We came home once from a Key West escape and found the sunroom ceiling on the floor. We were having a roofer do a reroof and the counter flashing was not done correctly.

   Do you have to pull a new Seal o Flex membrane across the roof or is there a way to

   patch in the spots and cover with seal?

   Hey - good question.  Monday night, I rolled on the pink embedding compound, consistancy like mayonaise, covered it with some fiberglas mat I had for the car, and then rolled over it again with the roller to get it well saturated. 

   Just now (Wednesday night), I rolled on the white top coat goop - more like thick paint.  It's waterproof now, but this weekend I'll wash the rest of this deck and recoat it all like I was SUPPOSED to do 5-10 years ago.
