Bidding out a Tile Job and the walls are spec’ed at two different thicknesses. The bottom half of the wall, a wainscott, is covered with a thick bed subway tile (about 1″) and the top half is spec’ed out with standard 1/2″ drywall. Do I scribe the inside edge of the jamb to the two different elevations or does the jamb just stick out past the drywall?

hey boris- how about working to the widest point, with your jamb and padding out to backside of casing at the drywall. you can use square stock with an eased edge and reveal; or "something" with a moulded edge.
I assume the tile will go on over top of the drywall, ie the drywall is the substrate for the tile. If so, install the casing first and let the tile setter come up to the casing. Much cleaner than trying to scribe casing to tile.
