I have aquired a beautiful oak entry door with leaded glass for free. It is brand new but was mis-drilled for a lockset. I want to install the door on my home but will need to fill the old holes and drill new mounting holes for a new Baldwin lockset. Do you have any suggestions on the best material to use to fill the old holes? It won’t be visible once the new lockset is installed, but it will need to be a workable, but durable material as I will need to drill through it for the Baldwin set. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use Oak. Next size up hole saw outta a slab that you can laminate from thinner stock.

plug the holes...
get a push plate to match and cover the patches...
change screw lenghts if need be.......

Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Plug the holes. I think that was my original plan, the question was plug with what? As I stated, no need to use anything to cover the patch, the lockset will do that. Think I'll go with Sphere's idea and cut and laminate some oak to fill.
Thanks anyway,
